We went to Freddies in Sapulpa, Oklahoma on a Wednesday night. When we first walked in, we told the hostess that we had 2 people who wanted to be seated in a booth in non-smoking. We were seated immediately and we noticed that while the restaurant sported cloth napkins, glass glasses and the look of a fairly upscale restaurant; the overall atmosphere was homey and relaxed. My husband and I were both given menus and we promptly ordered Pepsi. The waitress provided very good service, she was upbeat and had some bounce in her step. :) There was another waiter that was friendly and with whom we spoke and joked around a bit as well.
My husband ordered the large Steak Filet meal for 23.99 and I ordered the BBQ Rib Dinner for 11.99. Although it took awhile for our entre' (about 30 mins. I believe), we received our salads and his tabouli, cabbage roll and vegies with hummus in a timely manner. There were also saltine crackers on the table.
The tabouli and cabbage roll were unique and yummy. On a scale of 1 to 10, I would rate my ribs about a 7. They were a bit dry and the sauce was a bit too sweet for my taste. However, I would probably order them again and would recommend them to someone else. The baked beans were good. I think the Texas toast was bit dry and might be better with a touch of garlic. (I am a bread person though and feel there should be some love in the bread no matter where I am eating.) The baked potato was great and they did give a generous portion of sour cream for the potato unlike some restaurants who seem to be rationing sour cream.
My husband ordered his filet "medium rare." He said he liked the texture and he would rate the way it was cooked to fit that bill as an 8 but he said the outside was singed too much and the smoke sauce was just "ok" and therefore his overall rating is a 6.
The total cost of our meal and drinks with an $8.00 tip was $50.00.
